The terms for using courier.insure: what our service is, how we are paid and what we are and are not responsible for.

The short version

  • Courier Insure is an information website about UK courier insurance. We are not an insurer or a broker and we do not give advice.
  • Our Get started buttons take you to MyMoneyComparison.com, a comparison service that can match you with specialist brokers. Its own terms apply once you are there.
  • We are an affiliate of MyMoneyComparison.com and may be paid a small commission if you are matched with, and speak to, a broker.
  • Any policy you buy is between you and the broker or insurer, on their terms. It is important that the information you give them is accurate.
  • Using this website is free. It is intended for people in the United Kingdom.

1. About these terms and who we are

  1. These terms apply to your use of the website at courier.insure (the website). By using the website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the website.
  2. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Courier Insure, Registered Company No 12947191, with its registered office at 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX. “You” and “your” mean the person using the website.
  3. “Our partner” means MyMoneyComparison.com, a comparison service that gives consumers and businesses a gateway to specialist insurance brokers. “Broker” means an insurance broker you are matched with through our partner, and “insurer” means the company that provides a policy.
  4. Our privacy policy explains how we use any personal information. It forms part of these terms.

2. What our service is, and what it is not

  1. The website provides general information about courier insurance in the United Kingdom, including cover for vans, cars, motorbikes, mopeds and goods in transit.
  2. When you choose Get started, Get a quote or a similar button, you leave the website and continue to MyMoneyComparison.com. From that point, MyMoneyComparison.com's own terms and privacy policy apply to you, not ours.
  3. We do not provide quotes, compare prices, arrange or sell insurance, or handle claims. We do not decide whether MyMoneyComparison.com can match you with a broker, which broker you are matched with, or whether a broker or insurer offers you cover.
  4. Nothing on the website is advice or a personal recommendation. The information is general, and whether a particular policy suits you is a matter to discuss with a broker.
  5. We aim to keep the information accurate and up to date, but insurers, brokers and delivery companies change their products and requirements. Where a page describes a delivery company's arrangements, it is worded “at the time of writing”, and the company's current terms take priority.

3. How we are paid

  1. Using the website is free.
  2. We are an affiliate of MyMoneyComparison.com. If you follow a link from the website to MyMoneyComparison.com and are matched with, and speak to, a broker who can help find insurance for your risk, MyMoneyComparison.com may pay us a small commission.
  3. We are not paid by any delivery company or app named on the website, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.

4. Your responsibilities when you look for cover

  1. Any quote, policy or contract is between you and the broker or insurer, on their terms, not ours. Please read their terms and policy documents carefully before you agree to anything.
  2. Answer every question a broker or insurer asks honestly, completely and to the best of your knowledge, including how you use the vehicle for deliveries. Giving wrong or incomplete information can lead to a policy being cancelled, a claim being refused or the cost going up.
  3. Check that the class of use on your certificate of motor insurance matches the work you do, for example hire and reward or courier use.
  4. Check your policy documents when you receive them and tell the broker or insurer straight away if anything is wrong or missing.
  5. If you give information about another person, such as a named driver, you confirm that you have their permission to do so.

5. Using the website

  1. You may view, print and download pages from the website for your own personal or business use, as long as you do not change them or remove any notices.
  2. The content, design and images on the website belong to us or the people who license them to us. You must not copy, republish or sell any part of the website without our written permission.
  3. You must not use the website in any way that is unlawful, harmful, misleading or likely to cause annoyance or inconvenience to others, and you must not send or post anything offensive, defamatory or that you do not have permission to share.
  4. You must not try to gain unauthorised access to the website, the server it is hosted on or any connected system, or introduce viruses or any other harmful code. You must not attack the website, for example with a denial-of-service attack.
  5. Anything you send us, other than personal information, is treated as not confidential, and we may use it to improve the website.

7. Our liability to you

  1. We take reasonable care over the information on the website, but it is provided for general information only and we do not guarantee that it is complete, accurate or current.
  2. We are not responsible for any loss you suffer because you relied on information on the website; because information you gave a broker or insurer was wrong or incomplete; because of anything a broker, insurer, our partner or any other third party does or does not do; because the website was unavailable; or because of viruses or harmful material you encounter through the website or a linked site.
  3. We are not responsible for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, income, business or opportunity.
  4. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Who the website is for

  1. The website is intended only for people in the United Kingdom. Nothing on it is an offer or promotion of any product or service to anyone outside the United Kingdom.

9. Complaints and contact

  1. If you are unhappy with the website or anything we have done, please email us at info@courier-fleet.co.uk or use our contact page. Tell us what happened and how we can put it right, and we will reply as soon as we can.
  2. Complaints about a quote, a policy, a claim or how you were treated by a broker or insurer should go to that broker or insurer, who will have their own complaints process. Complaints about MyMoneyComparison.com's service should go to MyMoneyComparison.com.

10. Changes to these terms and governing law

  1. We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you use the website is the one that applies, so please check it from time to time.
  2. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will still apply.
  3. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, unless you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
